The big typhoon that hit Japan yesterday is gone. One of the large cherry trees on our campus (near my office) got severely broken by the strong wind, and the large branches were lying on the road for nearly all day.
Near the broken cherry tree, I found a small tree of Japanese pepper (sansho), which is one of my favorite spices for cooking. It goes well not only with fish or other Japanese dishes, but also with other Asian and western dishes with chicken or beef. For those who have never seen Japanese pepper (sansho), I took the photos above and below.
