Edward Levinson, born in Virginia, is a photographer well-known for the use of a simple hand-made pinhole camera. He published a photo book titled "Timescapes Japan", which received a First Prize Award at the Prix de la Photographie Paris in 2007. He has been living in Japan since 1979 and is now living in an artists' commune in the suburb of Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture.
This month Ed Levinson's work is in exhibition at the bars and restaurant of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ). I took the photos of Ed Levinson above and below at the main bar of the FCCJ a couple of days ago, with the work of Ed in his background. His photo exhibtion at the FCCJ titled "Mind Games" shows his photos that were taken with his hand-made "three-hole Pinhole Blender camera", shaped like a round can of cookies, with three lenses aiming at every 120 degree direction. The blender camera takes separate photos and combines them into one image within the round camera. For details, visit the following webpage:
His work is also exhibited at the Fine Photo Gallery (Four Seasons hotel, Tokyo), for the project "Entre Deux", the highlight exhibition of the gallery from June 1 to July 1, 2012.

Ed Levinson will be on an English NHK World TV program tommorrow (on June 26th, 2012) titled "Journeys in Japan". In the program, Ed visited the Azumino and Kamikochi areas of Nagano Prefecture where beautiful nature rich with water is preserved in the mountain valleys. The following is the link to the program:
